Here is the data from the ride. Behind these numbers it wasn’t all peace and calm. There were difficulties, but I was pleased that I improved daily and could have ridden back home if time allowed. My benchmark for performance is now at a higher level, and I’m grateful for that. Would I do it again? Yes.

Kevin, I have enjoyed every word you’ve posted. I’m proud of my friend. We met in grade school at Dommerich, and while I don’t think we knew each other very well, I’m very moved by your dedication to your dream and your tenacity. I suspect this journey has changed you in ways you haven’t discovered yet – all of them good. See you at the next reunion (it’s not that far off)!

I’m surprised at the 384 total riding hours stat. It seems like it should be much higher. I need to lose 5-7 pounds, but while I was inspired by your pedaling, I more closely related to your consumption of ice cream, hamburgers and milkshakes.
